Notes from Source: How the portrayal of the Greek god Dionysos in “The Bakkhai,” a play by Euripides, relates to the concept of beginnings is discussed. In this play, Euripides is also deemed to present to Dionysos’ worshippers the shock of a possible, entirely other self. This notion of self has begun despite never being performed.
